GLOSSARY

CANNABINOID

Any of various naturally-occurring, biologically active chemical components of the hemp plant. Many studies are finding more and more evidence that certain cannabinoids have an array of beneficial effects on the body. (Note: THC is the only cannabinoid which causes any kind of psychoactive effect, and our CBD oil contains all of the benefits cannabinoids offer without the THC content that causes a “high” - so it’s safe for pets and children!)

CBD

Short for cannabidiol; a nonintoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis and hemp.

ENTOURAGE EFFECT

The synergistic result of combining several cannabinoids in order to create even greater advantages than would be achieved individually or in lesser quantities.  THC may be present or absent depending on personal preference, but absolutely does not need to be included in order to achieve this effect.

FLAVONOIDS

Any of a large group of typically biologically active water-soluble plant compounds that include pigments ranging in color from yellow to red to blue and occur especially in fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

MCT

MCT or Medium Chain Triglycerides oil is a supplement made from a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides.  MCT molecules are smaller than those in most other fats (long-chain triglycerides [LCT]).

NANO

Nano, or Nanotechnology, is the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometers, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules. In our case, this means the CBD molecules extracted from the hemp plant have been broken down and concentrated.

TERPENE

Any of numerous hydrocarbons found especially in essential oils, resins, and balsams. Learn More

THC

THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is either of two physiologically active isomers from hemp plant resin; the chief intoxicant in marijuana.
